I’ve been on a hiatus the last few things as things have been super busy! I wanted to share a quick look I wore over the weekend in the city. It’s been really hot here in Philadelphia so shorts have been my best friend! These high waist shorts with tie are soo comfortable and are the cutest! They come in a variety of colors also. I picked up this blush color and also these blue ones. The shorts do run a little big - I’m wearing a size Small (I usually tend to wear Medium for bottoms). Express is also having a sale on so many items so make sure to check it out! Some of my favorites are: Drawstring Jumpsuit, Cami and this OTS Stripe Dress.
Valentine’s Day is literally right around the corner (one week from today to be exact!). Whether you’re heading out for a romantic dinner with your significant other or having a night with your girlfriends it’s always a fun excuse to get all dolled up!
I thought this sequin dress from the new Olivia Culpo collection that just launched in Express stores would be the perfect dress for Valentine’s Day. I love everything about this dress - from the length to the red sparkles to the beautiful ribbon tie waist. And of course, the hot magenta color. The one thing that I love about the new collection is that it includes a great range of different styles - from casual to edgy to dressed up. It honestly could not have come at a more perfect time.

A red dress is a must have and I believe it's almost as important as having that little black dress in your closet that fits you perfectly. This mid length red dress from Express makes quite the statement but is yet so simple. The cold shoulder detail is fun and playful and the pleated detail makes the dress fall beautifully on any bodytype and gives it a modern update.

The past two weeks have been so crazy busy! I was in Vegas for a girls trip the weekend of July 4th and this past weekend my husband and I went to LA for a good friend’s wedding (yes I flew to Vegas, flew back to Philly, and flew back to LA!). When we were in LA we were on crunch time so I wanted to squeeze in as many sights I could see into half a day.
We had some time Thursday evening when our flight got in and took a drive over to the Santa Monica Pier. We had dinner with our friends at Misfit (the food was very yummy!) and then walked over to the Pier. I was slightly disappointed that by the time we got there everything was pretty much closed but it was nice to walk up and down the pier. I'm sure it would have been so nice during the day.
The next day we had half a day on Friday to see some of the sights before our friends wedding festivities kicked off. One of the sights we really enjoyed while we were out in LA was the Griffith Observatory. The Griffith Observatory doesn’t open until about noon so we made sure to get their early before the crowds. We had so many beautiful views of LA and of course, had a great view of the Hollywood sign! After that we drove over to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It was super crowded but it was fun to see all the stars and take pictures with our favorite ones! After that our last stop was Beverly Hills because I wanted to see what the hype was around Rodeo Drive. Rodeo Drive definitely did not disappoint and there were so many amazing stores! Also, I would say Beverly Hills was so nice and lush with so many beautiful palm trees. I could have spent a whole day there if I could!
As a sidenote, I wore this super comfortable skort (yes I said skort you're probably thinking "wow I haven't worn one since I was like 10!") but this was sooo comfortable! I wanted to buy them in a few different colors but my local Express in downtown Philadelphia was out of them!
Sweaters have been my go-to lately with temperatures still being on the chilly side here in Philadelphia. I love this cozy high slit sweater from Express. The slits go pretty high up on each side, but it's such a fun trend to try this season! I paired this high slit sweater with my favorite pair of faux leather leggings from Club Monaco. The thing I love about the faux leather leggings is that the faux leather is only on the front side which makes them super comfortable.
Over the weekend a good family friend came to visit from Boston. We all went to dinner Saturday night at a local Italian BYOB called Cafe Casta Diva (which was amazing!) followed by Karaoke. I wore this outfit as it was comfortable yet chic. We had such a fun time!
PS: My sweater is currently 40% off and the leggings are on sale also!
