They're back for the season and trending stronger than ever! The over-the-knee boot is the one fashion forward must-have boot in your closet for this upcoming cold weather season. I love that over-the-knee boots are super versatile. You can literally wear them with a sweatshirt and jeans (like how I styled them) or with leggings, shorts and even a dress! These boots make even the most simplest of sweatshirts seem cool hence, these boots can completely transform any outfit.
The well known Stuart Weitzman Lowland Over-The-Knee-Boot is an investment piece for sure but there are so many budget friendly over-the-knee boots out there. The ones I am wearing above are by Sam Edelman and they are my go to for the season. Here are a few other ones I like: Steve Madden, Vince Camuto, Sole Society.
A couple of things to consider about when buying over-the-knee boots:
What color to buy OTK boots in? For your first pair I recommend buying a neutral color such as black, brown, gray or beige.
What sort of material should you buy your OTK books in? I personally gravitate towards suede as I feel they look dressier versus leather.
Should I buy flat boots or heel boots? I have both OTK boots with a flat and also a heel but I get more use out of the OTK boots that are flat. They are also easier to wear out in the city.
How should OTK boots fit? OTK boots should be snug and above the knee. Also, if they aren't easy to get on/off then there's less of a chance you will wear them. Maybe consider getting a pair that has a zipper or ties.
How can you protect your investment piece? Make sure to buy a spray to winterize them so they last from season to season (especially with suede!)
