Product Review: L'OREAL Infallible 8 HR Le Gloss

I was in CVS last week and wanted to pick up a nude gloss that wouldn’t break the bank so I decided to go with the Infalliable 8 HR Le Gloss by L’OREAL in Barely Nude (retails about $8.50).  This gloss claims to be hydrating, last for 8 hours, non-sticky, and overall comfortable.  I would say that’s a pretty big claim right there. My first thought was “Wow! This gloss is comes nude AND lasts 8 hours?!” It sounded like a dream come true so I decided to buy it.

Initially putting the gloss on I immediately noticed a strange smell. Not strange as in bad, strange as in a sweet smell. Luckily, it went away after a few minutes. The applicator is a little larger size than your standard gloss applicator. Initially when I put on the gloss it felt smooth and a little heavy. But then you notice the formula becoming a little hard. The gloss also looked great at first with high shine and pigment however this disappeared within about 15 minutes. My lips looked a little on the dry side if anything.

Now for the big question – does this gloss last 8 hours as it claims? After I wore the lip gloss a couple of times I noticed that the color came off easily. Easy as in I took a sip of water and I noticed a print of my lip on the glass. Didn’t the package say that this gloss is supposed to last for 8 hours? I would say that this gloss has the potential to last for hours IF you don't drink or eat anything. This I would believe would be extremely hard for anyone especially for myself since I try to keep hydrated throughout the day by drinking water.

I did want to say that the color in nude is gorgeous and perfect for work. However, if you plan on drinking coffee and water throughout the day then expect to put this gloss on constantly.

Outfit of The Day

So I thought once a week or bi-weekly I would start doing a round-up of my outfit of the day "OOTD" as some of you might call it. Originally I was not going to post my personal outfits as it is a little nerve wrecking receiving feedback and throwing it all out there. However, one of my friends suggested I should put up some of my own looks on my blog.

I would say that my style is trendy mixed with basics. I like to mix the current trends with pieces from different seasons and also with pieces from previous years. I am a strong believer in splurging on accessories (i.e. jewelry, shoes and handbags) versus clothing as trends change so frequently. I usually splurge on clothing if its something I really really really want or if it's an outfit for work which I know I will re-wear.

This picture was taken in Rittenhouse Square yesterday before heading to the shops on Walnut Street. Unfortunately it was rather windy and cloudy out and it rained Saturday so it was rather gloomy outside. Also I was only able to get one picture with my camera before it died and the second one was taken with my phone (my apologizes for the picture being a tad blurry). I should have made sure my camera was charged before heading out shopping (note to self!).  I also posted the outfit on instagram so for you that follow me it might look familiar.

DIY Home Remedies for Tightening Skin

Happy Friday loves! Over time we loose the elasticity on our face and our face starts to show signs of sagging and aging. Loss of elasticity becomes most noticeable around the eyes, jaw line, and neck. Although cosmetic procedures are available, they can be costly and I don't know about you but dishing that kind of money isn't really plausible for me nor is getting cosmetic procedures done. However, by starting to take care of your skin early on in life you can delay the signs of aging. Before trying cosmetic procedures and expensive products, give these home facial remedies a try!

Egg Whites - A face mask made with egg whites tightens your skin. Here is what you do. Take two egg whites and whisk the egg whites until the eggs become frothy. Then spread the mixture on your face using a brush (you can use a clean foundation brush) and let the eggs dry for thirty minutes.  After thirty minutes, rinse your face with cold water. If you want to incorporate a lightening agent use a couple of drops of lemon juice. You should use this mask once a week.

Banana and Honey Mask - Blend half a banana, two tablespoons of honey and one tablespoon water together. Spread this mixture on your face for twenty minutes and then rinse off with warm water.

Milk and Honey Mask - Take two tablespoons of milk, one tablespoon of honey, and a few drops of Vitamin E in a bowl. Brush onto your face and leave on for ten minutes. Then rinse off with warm water.

In addition to the masks above make sure your skin is staying well hydrated by drinking plenty of water on a daily basis! Also as a reminder if you are allergic to any of the ingredients above do not use the mask! I hope you all enjoy!

Zara Shopping Haul

I recently made a shopping trip to Zara in their Philadelphia location. I have to say that since the last time I've been there, Zara has a lot more of their new collection out on display. The main themes I have noticed with the spring collection at Zara are Black and White, Stripes, Leather, Bold Colors, and Exotic Prints. As I am currently not in "spring mode" yet (and by that I mean buying cute Spring dresses) I picked up a couple of items that I felt could be worn in various different ways from transitioning from the cold weather to the upcoming warmer spring weather.

The first piece I picked up is this White Crossover Wrap Blouse which I absolutely adore (retails $59.90). This blouse is very comfortable and looks like it is more expensive than it is.  I wore this blouse Friday night paired with dark blue jeans and black pumps.

The second piece I picked up is this sweater which I wore to work last Friday with jeans and black flats. The shirt is perfect for a casual look on the weekend and for work since it is on the loose side.

The last piece I picked up is this blue blouse which I am planning on wearing either tucked into a skirt for work or with jeans with gold flats for a more casual look. The shirt is somewhat plain but I do love the gold detailing on the buttons which makes the shirt pop.

DIY Avocado Hair Mask For Amazing Hair!

Happy Friday beauties! You guessed what today is... DIY Friday! So today I will be telling you how to make a hair mask that's super easy with all natural ingredients you can find in your kitchen! This mask is the Avocado Hair Mask. Avocados contain vitamins and contains oil which hydrate the hair.

What you need:
1. 1 Ripe Avocado
2. 1 Tbsp Honey
3. 2 Tbsp Almond Oil (or Olive Oil)

Scoop the insides out of an avocado and mash in a bowl. Then add a tablespoon of honey and two tablespoons of almond oil into the bowl.  If you do not have almond oil you can use olive oil. Mix together all ingredients. Put on your hair for 20-25 minutes then rinse off in the shower with warm water.  To avoid this mask from getting messy I would put a shower cap over your hair or saran wrap. This mask will leave your hair feeling smooth and silky!!
